STATEMENT

As an emerging artist, my paintings serve as a profound reflection of my journey of living with a dual diagnosis. When words fail me, I turn to art to convey the intricate tapestry of emotions that often accompany this experience. Through my work, I aim to articulate both the depths of despair and the heights of joy I encounter. My most intimate pieces, affectionately dubbed "my girls," encapsulate the nuances of my internal landscape and external surroundings. These figurative and abstract expressions serve as a conduit for the shadows and the light within me, offering a path to catharsis and hope.

Employing a diverse array of mediums, including acrylics, watercolor, ink, and oil pastels on canvas, I craft tactile representations of my emotional landscape. These materials allow me to imbue my creations with depth, texture, and movement, capturing the essence of my inner and outer worlds.

Central to my artistic vision is a commitment to destigmatizing mental health struggles and championing the journey of recovery. By shedding light on the challenges and triumphs inherent in the human experience, I aspire to inspire others to embrace creative expression to navigate the ineffable. My art serves as a beacon of resilience, reminding viewers that even amidst darkness, the possibility of illumination and growth exists.

Ultimately, my artwork is a testament to the enduring resilience of the human spirit—a reminder that, even in our darkest moments, there is always a path forward and beauty yet to be discovered.
